10.  Stalag 17 — this one’s for you, Dad.

10.  Life is Beautiful — Honestly, this could be #1 — It’s my Best Foreign Film — Cinema Paradiso comes close

9.    The Sound of Music — Best Musical, Ever — nothing else comes close (though I do love My Fair Lady)

8.    The Sting  — the poker scene on the train is unforgettable

7.    One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest — Nicholson may be the best actor, ever, Nurse “Ratchet” — best character name, ever

6.    Life is Beautiful — Honestly, this could easily be #1.

5.    Cool Hand Luke — you “feel” this movie — hot, sweaty, dusty, finally – heartbreaking

4.    North By Northwest — I’m a huge Hitchcock fan — he could easily dominate my top 10 — but I’m limiting him to just one for variety’s sake (Rear Window, Strangers on a Train, Shadow of a Doubt, Vertigo, Psycho, Rebecca, his silent films The Lodger — all his movies are “must see”.)

3.    It’s A Wonderful Life — about 30 years ago, this was a “sleeper” pick — part of me hates that it’s so popular now/another part of me is glad so many love it (Donna Reed is my top leading lady of all time in this movie — beautiful — yes, she even nudges out Grace Kelly in Rear Window)

2.    The Godfather — (Part 2 included — Part 2 would stand alone at number 3, but there are too many others to squeeze in)

1.    Raising Arizona — certainly not on par with the Godfather overall — but it’s so funny — still has me rolling after seeing it hundreds of times.
