CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR – review

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

I am not sure I would call this Captain America, or Avengers 3, most all the Avengers are back plus a new member, and also Ant-man. The problem is Each takes a side and they fight each other. Some take sides with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and the others take sides with Captain America (Chris Evans).  The fight is over Government Oversight, and should they be controlled by the governments of the world or still have their freedom to fight where they wanted to fight.  I am not going to go into too much of the story line, but pay attention and if you don’t know who Zemo is in relation to Marvel universe look it up before you go see this flick.  Also there is 2 end credit scenes so stay for them please.  images-11

Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo take us on an incredible journey for their first of what I hope many Marvel Movies.  They way they bring all the characters together and how they follow most of the comic story lines I might go out on a limb and say this might be the best Comic Book movie I have ever seen.

As we saw earlier this year it is really hard to bring a lot all together in a comic book movie Batman vs. Superman showed us just how hard it really is.  Where Batman vs Superman failed Civil War has succeeded, The story is cohesive, the editing is flawless, the action is great, and they have comic relief at the right moments.  The most important ingredient in Civil War that was missing in Batman vs is FUN.  With Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and SpiderMan (Tom Holland) we get the fun and the comic relief all great movies need.  images-10

While they provide the laughs, there has been a lot of damage from the Avengers protecting Earth.  We have seen it all starting with New York in the first Avengers flick.  In Civil War an event happens in Lago, Nigeria that makes the world Governments want to have so rules of engagements for the Avengers.  Secretary of State Thaddeus Ross (William Hurt) teams up with Tony Stark Aka Iron Manto come up with these rules of engagement that is going to be signed.

Some of the Avengers sign on, but others don’t this is where you have the Team Iron Man vs. Captain America.  on Iron Man’s team Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Vision (Paul Bettany).  are the ones who are fighting for the new accord.  Captain America’s team has Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Sharon Carter (Emily Vancamp), Ant- Man (Paul Rudd) are fighting against the accords, but also they have figured out that Zemo (Daniel Bruhl) is really the mastermind that is up to no good.  images-12

There are some amazing chase scenes, action scenes, the story line does not fail us, and while the Russo’s put a lot in this flick they do it flawlessly.  Black Panther joins Iron Man’s team for a reason, not going to give any of this away.  Spider-Man is recruited by Iron Man and the scene is great, (I can’t wait to see Marvel take on Spiderman in Homecoming).  imgres-19

I loved this flick I grade it an A+.  I don’t think it could have been better, where Batman vs. Superman failed the Russo’s succeeded.  They were able to have two Super Hero teams fight each other and have it be not only entertaining, but not a jumbled mess. If you are a movie fan go see this flick not once but 3 time it  is great and I can’t wait for the Russo’s to do more Marvel flicks.
