The craziest adventure vacation I ever did was last year when we are doing a road trip in Utah. We have no cell phone reception, no kind of communications, just following paper maps, vacation guides and highway road signs. It was awesome.

My girlfriend and I and two friends took a motorcycle trip to Yellowstone National Park last Labor Day weekend. 100 miles in the rain, over a mountain peak (10,300 feet) at 30 degrees, 1400 miles in 4 days. my friends and I decided it was “still” a good idea to go Mexico at the height of the swine flu epidemic a few years back. Only 25% of the hotel was open due to other vacationers “cancelling” their trips out of fear, so very there was very limited food and drinks available to us, pools weren’t maintenanced, and not much staffing onsite so most onsite hotel bars / restaurants were closed. We had to go into town just to get a decent meal via local restaurants! NOT the best “all-inclusive” vacation!

Took the train to Chicago with my best friend. Thought we would get attacked in the train station cause there was no one there and it looked like we were in skidrow. Was scary. Got on the train and we were laughing along the way cause the train like slowed down for people to get on and off not really stop. And then we had to stop cause cows crossing the road blocked the tractks. Was freezing in Chicago cause it was February and it snowed. Was slmost too cold to walk anywhere so we bought food and took it back to the hotel. Basically ate and watched TV the whole time but we laughed and laughed. And then to top it off we got to the station late for the trip home and had to run through the station and after the train just like in the movies. We still laugh about that trip.

  68. Nancy says:

Years ago, my friend and I were going to drive several hours across the state to go to a big concert the next day. Within the first hour of leaving home (in the daytime), it got completely dark and cloudy. We ended up getting pulled over later for going over the speed limit, and we were let go with a warning. We made reservations late, everything was sold out, and all that was left was a hotel in a scary part of town, and we arrived at night with a bunch of people sitting outside staring at us. Next day drove 30 minutes from hotel to stadium and forgot tickets at hotel. Went back for tickets and arrived again at stadium. It was a windy day, and when we got to the gate, my ticket had blown away. Had to buy a new ticket. Once we got inside it started pouring down rain on us. We left concert early and went back to hotel. Watched news and discovered that the black clouds we drove through ended up being a bad tornado near where we came from. We thought we would do some shopping the next day. Parking lot pretty empty, so we got a good parking spot. Found out Mall closed due to holiday. On the way home, ended up going down a one-way street the wrong way in front of a cop and he laughed at us. My friend and I affectionately refer to this as the Trip from Hell! LOL 🙂

Went to Cedar Point in Ohio, while on the Millenium ride (I think) the car in front of us came back from their ride COVERED in a thick layer of dead bugs, large gnats of some sort. Coughing, spitting, wiping the thick layer of legs and guts and wings off of their faces. We could see even in dusk multiple CLOUDS of insects hovering high around the track. We had to ride next, but after waiting like 45 minutes we decided we had to go anyway. We rode through the ride at night with sunglasses, and shirts over us like Beavis doing Cornholio. It was awesome.

Flight left late, which caused us to miss our connecting flight. Ended up having to make two more connecting flights, with weather delays. 1st family vacation with our daughter we went to Disney World and there was record rainfall for that day at the park! she was so upset she didn’t want to even go back to the park! the next day was much better…..it was quite an expensive day at Disney since we sat inside a store for a few hours hoping the rain would stop and some of the day would be salvaged.

  89. Sarthak Sinha says:

A few years back I went on vacation with the family. We were in a very very small travel trailer that looked something like the one that Goofy pulls behind his car in the Disney cartoon.
Anyway, it was late and I was tired of driving, I happened to see a large parking lot that was vacant and decided to pull in and set up camp for the night.

It was a Saturday night and I figured that what ever parking lot and building this was, no one would be using it on Sunday morning. So, I parked and unhooked the trailer and set up camp. By morning I had all the camping gadgets set up, gas grill, lawn chairs, trash can ect.

However, at about 10.30am, a line of cars started to poor into the parking lot and people dressed up in tuxedos and long dresses began to get out and walk right next to my camp and enter the front door of the building that I was parked right in front of.

Out of all the times and all the places, I happened to set up camp in front of the main entrance for a high school graduation!

As the graduates, family and guest passed by my camp site I remember asking one of them as they passed by if they knew “what day does the trash get picked from here”!
